We the People for Your Grade Level

The curricular program is written at three levels, each designed to target specific grade bands and provide progressively deeper insights into the U.S. Constitution. These three levels are:

Primarily for grades 4-5. The Lexile level is 820L, and the New Dale-Chall grade levels are 5-6.

Each level of the We the People curriculum is tailored to the age and grade level of the students, ensuring that the content is age-appropriate and aligns with learners' development. The curriculum progressively deepens students' understanding of the Constitution, civic engagement, and the principles of American democracy as they advance through their school years.

Citizen & Democracy: For Primary Elementary

In addition to the three levels of the Citizen & the Constitution series, there is also a curriculum specifically designed for primary elementary students. This richly illustrated textbook helps students gain a beginning understanding of the foundational ideas essential to preserving our free society.

Primarily for grades 3-5. The New Dale-Chall grade levels are 4 and below.

Which Level is Right for Me?

The curriculum levels allow teachers to utilize the content that best fits their students’ abilities. For example, teachers of gifted middle-grade students might find the Level 3 curriculum more appropriate, while teachers with struggling readers may find Level 2 more appropriate.
