Sustaining democracy, together

Center for Civic Education
Since 1965, the Center has been a national leader in developing, implementing, and evaluating civic education curricular and professional development programs. Through our evidence-based programs and educator professional development opportunities:
  • Over 70% of middle and high school students report having become more attentive to governmental affairs and feel more prepared to take part in their community.
  • Over 90% of students have come to believe it is a citizen’s duty to vote in elections.
  • Almost 100% of teachers feel better equipped to teach their students about American government and good citizenship.
Support is critical as we build on our strong foundation. With your help, we are refreshing our materials to incorporate recent events that are shaping our constitutional democracy and working to increase accessibility to our research-backed programs for historically underserved schools, communities, and adults.
