The Center for Civic Education is currently hiring a Manager of Civic Learning Projects and a Media Literacy and Professional Learning Consultant.
Manager of Civic Learning Projects: Reporting to the Director of Civic Learning and Strategic Partnerships, the Manager of Civics Curricular Projects is responsible for leveraging experience in inquiry, media literacy, historical analysis, and other best practices in civic education to support the reimagining and revision of flagship Center materials including lessons, resources, and student and teacher-facing materials to improve accessibility and equity of programs, including format, content, and dissemination, among other duties.
Media Literacy and Professional Learning Consultant: The Media Literacy and Professional Learning Consultant is responsible for crafting a module of eight media literacy lessons and accompanying instructional resources for upper elementary through secondary school learners based on stakeholder feedback to complement the Center's civic education curricular programs. The consultant’s work will be responsive to current and emerging concerns with digital media and incorporate best practices in pedagogy and grade-level-appropriate objectives and activities. The consultant is also responsible for participating in the development of professional learning opportunities for teachers and conducting expert training sessions for coordinators and educators.
