Meghan Volcy is a Massachusetts native who currently Coordinates National Programs and Grants at the Center for Civic Education.

She attended Boston University and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, minoring in Sociology and Urban Studies. From interning at the office of Senator Elizabeth Warren and Late Night with Seth Meyers, to substitute teaching and volunteering at her old K-8 school, and working for her local school district, to serving as a program manager for Boston University’s First Year Student Outreach Project, and her most recent role as a research and policy associate in Massachusetts' education space, Meghan has pursued her interests in policy, equity, storytelling, writing, and research in various roles throughout her career. Meghan has been building a wide range of skills in curriculum review and development, mixed-methods research and analysis, project management, facilitation of learning experiences for youth and adults, grant writing, community development, youth development, writing, media production, partner/client/constituent relationship management, and program scope design, implementation, and evaluation.

In her community presence, Meghan serves on her local Human Rights and Fair Housing Commission and as a Warden at her local polling place during election seasons. She is equity-driven, believing that the people closest to the pain should be the closest to the power and that civic education, engagement, and empowerment are key levers to that end. Outside of politics and policy (though she does believe everything is political), Meghan finds joy in traveling, trying new restaurants, being in the sun, biking, skiing, heading to Fenway to watch a baseball game, romanticizing subway and regional train rides alike, and catching up on her favorite shows.
