Unit 3: What Happened at the Philadelphia Convention?

You now are familiar with the knowledge and experiences of the Founders of our government. This unit will help you understand why the Framers, the men who created the Constitution, wrote the Constitution as they did. You will study the major problems facing the Framers and how they solved them.

When you complete this unit, you will be able to explain how the Constitution was written. You will also be able to describe some disagreements that occurred during the Philadelphia Convention and how they were solved. Finally, you will be able to explain how the Framers allocated powers to the executive and judicial branches.
