Lesson Purpose

This lesson introduces the ideas of a constitution and constitutional government. It also introduces the idea that a constitution is a higher law.

Lesson Objectives

When you finish this lesson you should able to explain the ideas of a constitution, constitutional government, and higher law, and explain some of the important differences between constitutional governments and autocratic or dictatorial governments.

A political system in which the ruler or rulers has unlimited power and which denies people's fundamental rights.
