Lesson Purpose

Our form of government is based on a set of ideas. These ideas establish what the purpose of government should be and what kind of government is best. This lesson introduces you to some of the basic ideas that were of great importance to the Founders. In this lesson you will learn about the idea of natural rights.

Lesson Objectives

When you finish this lesson, you should be able to explain what the Founders believed to be the natural rights of human beings, explain why the Founders believed that the people need a government, and explain how people create governments
