The Campaign to Promote Civic Education effort is a fifty-state campaign (including the District of Columbia) aimed at restoring the civic mission of our nation's schools by encouraging states and school districts to devote sustained and systematic attention to civic education from kindergarten through twelfth grade. The Center's Campaign to Promote Civic Education is affiliated with the Civic Mission of the Schools Campaign (CMS). Overview
The Campaign to Promote Civic Education recognizes challenges and opportunities facing civic education in the 21st Century. Please visit the Campaign Overview to learn more about the vital importance of civic literacy, to understand the history of the Campaign, and to find out how your voice can improve civic education and engagement in the United States. Resources
The Campaign will provide resources including research; studies; reports; papers; legislation, including the recent U.S. Senate resolution; agendas; and other tools designed to assist state facilitators and concerned citizens in promoting civic education in each state. The Center has also made available Proposed Requirements for Instruction in Civics and Government.

State Campaigns
The Campaign to Promote Civic Education is a network of fifty-one state campaigns working to make civic education a priority in their states and local districts.

The Center and its partners have been advocating for civic education for over 25 years.
