National Summer Institutes Print E-mail
As funding is available, the Center for Civic Education conducts national summer institutes. These are rigorous professional development programs that bring educators together to work with constitutional scholars from a variety of disciplines. Participants complete academic readings, attend morning lectures, and participate in afternoon sessions dedicated to the content and teaching methods appropriate to the We the People curriculum. In addition, attendees also participate in a culminating activity modeled on the We the People simulated congressional hearing, an authentic assessment strategy. The institutes are conducted at prestigious universities throughout the United States. Unfortunately, the Center will not be conducting summer institutes in 2014. If you have questions about the institutes please contact Robert Leming.
