Spearfish High School placed first in the We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution South Dakota state finals December 16 at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell.

West Central High School in Hartford placed second.

Joe Schartz from West Central High School was awarded the Lennis Larson Citizen Award for outstanding speaking.
