District Of Columbia State We The People Hearing-Competitive

Event Date
February 13, 2018

Description
The D.C. Citywide We the People competition will take place on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at The Hill Center (921 Pennsylvania Ave SE). High school teams will compete in the morning (8:30-11:30am) and middle school teams will compete in the afternoon (12:00-3:00pm). This location is Metro accessible via the Eastern Market station.

Each school may bring one representative team to Citywide Finals. You may wish to hold an in-school competition in December or January to determine which of your classes will go on to Citywide Finals. If you have an idea of which date/s you will hold your in-school event, please list it on the Intent to Compete Form so that I can help you find guest judges.

High school teams wishing to advance to National Finals in April must compete all six units.

Middle school teams wishing to advance to We the People National Invitational must compete all six units.

Schools that prefer to compete fewer than the full six units are still encouraged to participate at this event. Presenting before judges is still a great experience for your students and a helpful way for a new coach to ease their way into the program.
